Fred, I just wanted to drop you a letter letting you know how much I appreciate your program Hammerlane. I purchased it mid 2005 when I decided after a year of being an owner operator that it was time for some help in the RECORD KEEPING portion of having my own Authority. A year later I upgraded to the leased fleet version. Being a business owner all of my life I'm no stranger to books, but when it came to federal laws that apply to trucking I was out of my element. A fellow owner operator turned me to your website, Hammerlane.com. And after spending some time there, It seemed a simple choice compared to the other programs out there. And I have to say, when I first started using it I was a little hesitant about it. Butt if you remember all the phone calls to you and your office I Quickly became proficient in its use and even after my hard drive crashed last year I knew at least my records with Hammerlane would be OK on my memory stick (backup-backup-backup). But I have to tell you what happened last Thursday...02/13/08

I had my DOT audit! Something I had been stressed about since I received my notice that it was indeed my turn for one. I got off the road ( I do a designated run from Seattle to NJ. ) a day early and sat in my office trying to go over what I needed to comply with it, and even after lying in bed trying to go to sleep my concerns would not let me not be nervous.... The next morning when the door bell rang I had sweat running off my forehead.. Rocky Thompson of the Montana DOT Quickly seen my anxiety and got right to it.. "Just a routine accounting of my records he said". As I Settled down to reply to all the questions I quickly realised ALL but a few things he was asking me about were right there in Hammerlane the 4hrs passed by very fast. He pulled a random trip envelope out of a tall stack and opened it out onto the desk...we went over it all and I showed him how it was all entered in Hammerlane.....was he ever impressed. He kept saying you mean all this is in there? He had never seen Hammerlane before, Yep...From maintenance to mileage records, even Vin numbers to vendors blew him away. And when Rocky stood up to go out to his truck to print out his report on me I didn't think I did that bad. All thanks to you. After he went over the 2 things I needed to do and he gave me my score a 4.5 ....3.5 on not having my current drug test in my file and 1 point for going over the 14 hr rule........ I was almost ecstatic... Wow. He was so into it he is going to tell all his people about it and recommend it. I had a big old country boy smile on my face when as he walked out of my office saying " I do aproxxamatly 200 of these a year and this one is between 1 and 5 of the easiest Ive ever Done" I said " its because of Hammerlane and trip envelops" Once again THANKS so much.. for all the help over the years and the patience it must have taken to wright such a comprehensive program. I'm looking forward to the next set of updates you have planed.
